My mother and father on their Wedding Day in October 1944 |
Petition to Bring My Father's Body Back from Grave in FranceOn April 12th, 1945 my father was killed in Gadheim, Germany. His body was later buried in French soil in St. Avold, in the earth that his blood liberated from Nazi Germany. For 57 years his body has honored French soil where my mother, pictured above with my father, thought it best to have him buried. He is buried there with 10,000 other American knights. But now that the French will not support our nation's liberty as we send our soldiers to fight against terrorist states like Iraq, his body is being dishonored by the French government. I want to send this petition to the U.S. Government requesting that my father's body be brought back to America where our family can bury him in the soil of the land of the free and the home of the brave.
