Riding in
the 4th of July Parade this knight holds up his sword upside down
as a symbol of the cross following the ancient tradition
established by King Louis IX of France after whom St. Louis is
named. This great king reminded his people of the King of
Kings by this inverted sword and the cross on which He died to
win us for His Kingdom.
Karl M. Kindt III was dubbed the first knight of St. Louis by the Mayor of St. Louis in a
news conference on November 10th of 1999 at the City Hall.
